The 50th World Small Animal Veterinary Association Congress (WSAVA 2025) will be held at RioCentro - Exhibition & Convention Center in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from September 25 to 27, 2025. As the most influential event in the global small animal veterinary field, this year’s congress, themed "Inheritance and Innovation," has attracted over 16,000 veterinary professionals, industry experts, and enterprise representatives from more than 100 countries to participate.

During the congress, over 300 academic lectures, hands-on workshops, and thematic forums will be held, covering cutting-edge fields such as veterinary oncology, imaging, and anesthesiology. For the first time, it is co-hosted with the Brazilian Association of Clinical Veterinarians (ANCLIVEPA-Brasil) and the Federation of Ibero-American Veterinary Associations (FIAVAC), strengthening the international linkage of the veterinary community in South America.

In addition, the exhibition features a 12,018-square-meter exhibition area where 218 enterprises will showcase the latest diagnostic and treatment equipment, pharmaceuticals, and intelligent management systems. Among them, Chinese companies such as Mindray will make an appearance with high-end imaging equipment.

Notably, this congress specially sets up a "One Health" themed exhibition area to explore the collaborative governance of human-animal-environment health, and showcases Rio’s diverse charm through cultural exchange activities. Founded in 1959, WSAVA returns to Brazil 16 years after its last hosting here. This event not only marks the 66th anniversary of the association’s establishment but also, through the milestone design of its 50th congress, builds a platform for knowledge sharing and technological innovation for the global veterinary industry.
